Note: You may also continue your journey from Amboseli to Mombasa by safari vehicle if preferred.

Your Guide & Transportation

For the 5-day journey, you’ll be guided, hosted, and looked after by your own experienced driver/guide. Transportation between parks and game viewing will be in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeep – providing higher seating and rugged all-wheel drive. First-class train tickets from Amboseli to Mombasa are included, along with transfers to your hotel or resort.

5 DAYS – NAIROBI – MASAI MARA – AMBOSELI – MOMBASA SAFARI TOUR

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara (Approx. 265 km – 5-6 hrs)

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Pickup is at 5:00 am to ensure plenty of time in the park. As the sun breaks over the African fields, we’ll stop in the town of Narok for breakfast before continuing to the Masai Mara, arriving mid-morning.

Day 2: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Full Day

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Enjoy a full day of unlimited game viewing. Traverse the grasslands and hills en route to the Mara River, the site of the great crossing where migrating herds forage and crocodiles lie in wait. Spot hippos and over 90 species of mammals throughout the reserve.

Optional excursions:

• Hot air balloon ride over the Mara at dawn – $420 per person (enquire with us)
• Visit a local Masai village – $20 per person payable to village (arrange with your safari driver/guide)

(Please note the Great Migration occurs between July – October.)

Day 3: Masai Mara – Amboseli (Approx. 520 km – 8-9 hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After an early breakfast, depart for Amboseli. Arrive in time for a late afternoon game drive. Enjoy the calm procession of free-ranging elephants against the iconic backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Weather permitting, catch the photogenic snow-capped peak in the evening.

Day 4: Full Day Amboseli National Park

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Start the day watching wildlife at dawn. Follow with breakfast and mid-morning game drives at your pace. Amboseli offers excellent opportunities to see lions, cheetahs, hyenas, impalas, giraffes, and elephants. Enjoy lunch and continue with more game drives, adjusting the pace as you desire.

Day 5: Amboseli – Emali Train Station – Mombasa Coast

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch

Celebrate the final day with a morning game drive through Amboseli, likely spotting elephants once more. Proceed to Emali Train Station (approx. 100 km – 1 hr) for the Madaraka Express high-speed train to Mombasa. Travel through Tsavo West and Tsavo East National Parks with additional wildlife viewing opportunities en route. Your driver/guide will assist with tickets and transfers.
