The tour starts at the Masai Mara Reserve, home to the Great Migration. Then, head to the Rift Valley lake of Naivasha for a safari sail and walking tour at private Crescent Island, followed by a bicycle safari at Hell’s Gate National Park. Note: Alternatively, you can continue your journey from Amboseli to Mombasa by safari vehicle.

Your Guide

You will be guided, hosted, and cared for by your own experienced driver/guide. Transportation between parks is in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeep, the safari standard with high seating and rugged all-wheel drive. First-class train tickets from Amboseli to Mombasa are included, along with transfer to your hotel or resort.

MASAI MARA – LAKE NAIVASHA / CRESCENT ISLAND / HELL’S GATE – AMBOSELI TOUR

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

Approx. 265 kms – 5-6 hrs
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
0500hrs: Pick up from your Nairobi hotel, airport, or residence. We start early to maximize time in the Mara, Kenya’s most famous park. Stop at Narok for breakfast as dawn lights up the African fields.

Day 2: Full Day – Masai Mara

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Spend the entire day on game drives throughout the Mara, home to over 90 mammal species, including the Big Five. Visit the Mara River for animal crossings during migration season (July–October). Optional hot air balloon rides or Masai village visits are available.

Other options at the Masai Mara:
• Balloon excursion = $420 per person (enquire with us)
• Masai village visit = $20 per person (payable to the village, arrange with your guide)

Day 3: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha

Approx. 240 km – 4 hrs
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Exit game drive from the Mara as we head to Lake Naivasha. Enjoy a sailing safari past hippos and birdlife. Visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary for a guided walking safari with buffalo, zebra, and giraffe. Finish the day at Hell’s Gate National Park on bicycles past impala, gazelle, zebra, giraffe, and baboons.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli

Approx. 350 km – 6 hrs
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Early departure to Amboseli National Park, known for its large elephant herds and views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Opportunity to see lion, cheetah, and nearly 400 bird species. Settle in at your lodge or tented camp with potential evening views of Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped summit.

Day 5: Amboseli – Emali Train Station – Kenya Coast

Approx. 100 km – 1 hr
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Morning game drive at Amboseli (if staying inside the park) before heading to Emali train station for your journey to the Kenya Coast. Travel through Tsavo West and Tsavo East National Parks with more wildlife viewing opportunities en route.
