We’ll also have our breakfast at our accommodation and then set out for an extra drive through the park, catching last glimpses of the wildlife and the mighty mountain.
Now, we’re on our way traveling over the scenic floor of the Great Rift Valley. Traveling to Lake Naivasha, we’ll stop in Nairobi at a noted restaurant to enjoy lunch.
We’ll proceed on our journey, reaching Lake Naivasha in the late afternoon – we may take a fun boat safari across the pretty lake, sailing by hippos, fish and taking in cormorant, pelican and perhaps see zebra and antelope grazing over on the shore.
Day 3
Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara (240 km – Approx. 5 Hrs)

Let’s rise with the sun for a game drive or boating safari over the lake.
There’s so much to do in the Lake Naivasha area. We’ll take a guided walking safari to nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. Acre for acre this park has more animals than any other Kenyan park and we’ll stroll by as they peacefully graze.
We also offer an optional bicycle ride over to Hell’s Gate National Park for more hiking close to the wildlife. Just ask your driver/guide to set this up.
But now it’s time to set out for the most famous wildlife park in the world – Masai Mara National Reserve.
We’ll arrive in time for a game drive and get our first taste of the sweep, the beauty and the active wildlife inhabiting this famous park.
All of Africa’s Big Five are here, and sightings of lion and cheetah are common.
Day 4

The Masai Mara is known for having the highest density of wildlife in the region.
So, we’ll be up early to track that wildlife over hills and savannahs, looking for the big predators but also some of the other 90 species of mammals filling this exciting ecosystem.
The reserve is also home to the Great Migration (July – October), when hordes of gazelle, wildebeest and zebra by the tens of thousands cross over the Mara River into the park on their yearly quest for taller, fresher grasses on which to feed.
We’ll take a picnic lunch at the Mara River, within sight of hippos and crocodiles, and if during the migration season, splendid views of the invading herds crossing into the park, in a sight unmatched anywhere.
Optional activities: Visit the local Maasai people in their nearby village to see their homes, learn about their culture, and perhaps purchase some of their colourful jewelry. You can also enjoy a pre-dawn hot air balloon safari over the park for a breathtaking sunrise view. Your driver/guide from Adventure In The Wild Safaris can make all arrangements.
Day 5
Masai Mara – Nairobi (265 km – Approx. 5 Hrs)
Meal plan: Breakfast
After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge/camp, your dedicated driver guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi – Kenya’s colorful capital city.
On the way, your guide will point out the Longonot extinct volcano which is a strato volcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. It is thought to have last erupted in the 1860s and its name is derived from the Maasai word Oloonong’ot, meaning “mountains of many spurs” or “steep ridges”.
You can opt to drive via Naivasha for lunch/excursions at an extra cost or drive straight to Nairobi and pass by Kiambethu farm for the tea farm tour inclusive of a three-course buffet lunch (at an extra cost) OR drive straight back to the capital and later transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home.
