Departs from / returns to Nairobi airport / Nairobi area hotels
We’ll pick you up in your own private 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeep.
Here’s a chance to experience two of Kenya’s most special parks, off the beaten trail. Ol Pejeta is dense with predators but also offers views of less-seen endangered species. Samburu hosts hundreds of elephants and also unique varieties like Grevy’s zebra, Beisa onyx, and plenty of birdlife. Both are relatively close to Nairobi for a comfortable, easy-paced African safari.
Enjoy this amazing safari in a customized pop-up roof Adventure In The Wild Safaris 4×4 Safari Jeep that includes: Portable fridge/Cooler Box, 4 Binoculars, long-range high-frequency radio, Sand bags, 4G/LTE broadband WIFI connectivity, Power Outlets AC 230V, First Aid Kit, Safari Guide Books – Baby Seats and Side Steps available on request… and above all, a professional multi-lingual safari guide who will ensure you have an unforgettable safari experience.
Not far from Nairobi, Ol Pejeta Wildlife Sanctuary welcomes you with all of Africa’s Big Five – including a large population of lion and even greater numbers of endangered black rhinos. This is the only place in Kenya where you’ll get to see chimpanzees, protected and nurtured in the Sweetwaters Sanctuary. All of this just 3 hours north of Nairobi in your own private safari vehicle.
Perhaps not as well-known as some of the other parks, Samburu National Reserve surpasses many of them in its great numbers of the big cats – lion, leopard, and cheetah. Not to mention elephants. The park boasts some 900 of these great, noble creatures. And if you’d like to see some out-of-the-way species, the reserve offers sightings of the unusual oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk… to name a few.
Together, these two parks create a distinctive and memorable African holiday safari filled with authentic wilderness, a rich palette of wildlife and even cultural encounters with the local tribes. Our journey will afford views of snow-capped Mt. Kenya, and scenic panoramas of Kenya’s central highlands with their coffee, tea and pineapple plantations.

Day 2 — Ol Pejeta → Samburu

We’ll rise early to enjoy the morning light and first stirrings of wildlife upon the grasslands here.
After breakfast, we’ll take a final game drive through the sanctuary and we’re off to Samburu Park.
This will be an easy and picturesque drive over the Kenya highlands, and we’ll pass through several climate zones on our way north.
We’ll arrive at Samburu Park and its lifeblood, the Ewaso Nyiro River, providing the wildlife with its life-sustaining waters.
Here at the river, we will look for lion, buffalo, elephant, and even hippo.
Day 3 — Full Day in Samburu
Let’s get up with the sun to enjoy the breaking of a new day in this wild and active park.
This is a day of unlimited game drives… if you wish. Just let your driver/guide know how you would like to plan your time.
At the Ewaso Nyiro River, we’ll be on watch for the park’s great populations of lion and elephant, who come to this watering spot to refresh.
At Samburu, we can also spot species not found elsewhere like the reticulated giraffe, oryx, Somali ostrich, and Grevy’s zebra.
The park also shows off over 450 species of avian life, including kingfisher, vulture, guinea fowl, falcon, and eagle. Despite its arid appearance, Samburu offers many surprises for the curious safari-goer.
