Safari Highlights
Embark on an extensive tour of the Great Rift Valley lakes, enjoying a variety of wildlife and colorful birdlife. Explore by Jeep, boat, on foot, and even by bicycle for a rich, action-packed safari experience.
Lake Nakuru National Park
Although flamingo numbers have declined, the park remains one of Kenya’s finest. Towering rocky escarpments overlook acacia forests, waterfalls, wooded hills, and euphorbia trees. Watch for pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, ostriches, storks, herons, and eagles. Rare species such as Rothschild’s giraffe and black rhinos along the lakeshore make Nakuru a wildlife photographer’s paradise.
Lake Bogoria National Reserve

3-Day Safari Adventure with Adventure In The Wild Safaris
Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru (160km, Approx. 3 hours)
Meal plan: Lunch, Dinner
07:30 hrs. – Your driver/guide from Adventure In The Wild Safaris will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence or the airport. We’ll head out in our private 4×4 Jeep for Lake Nakuru National Park, taking rest stops along the way to stretch and appreciate the magnificent views of the Great Rift Valley.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Bogoria – Baringo
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
The park is the perfect spot for a sunrise safari as the voluminous birdlife emerges into the new day. We’ll see the first rays of light touch the lake, bringing with them the early stirrings of the wildlife.
Then we’ll journey in our 4×4 Jeep through the Great Rift Valley to the nearby Lakes Bogoria and Baringo.
Lake Bogoria lies in a volcanic region which accounts for its natural geysers and hot springs, located along the banks of the lake. But its single greatest feature is the spectacular flocks of bright colorful flamingos adorning its shores.
Lake Baringo, a neighboring lake, is a bird haven. Enjoy a sailing safari across the waters where birdwatching is unsurpassed. You’ll be looking for nightjars, Goliath herons, and hornbills among the 400+ species of avian life.
Optional: Make a cultural village visit to the Njemps Community Village for $40 per person.
Day 3: Lake Baringo – Lake Naivasha – Nairobi
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch
We’ve got a very busy day ahead, so we’ll depart early for Lake Naivasha.
The Naivasha area is filled with forests, extinct volcanos, waterfalls, and dramatic gorges. This high-altitude freshwater lake is home to hippos, aquatic species, and diverse birdlife. Wildlife including buffalo, impala, and waterbuck are often drawn to its shores.
We’ll enjoy lunch here followed by a sail across the lake, taking in the resident hippos. Then, we’ll make a special trip to nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary – a beautiful private reserve filled with mostly gentle grazers. On a guided walking safari with the Sanctuary’s naturalist, we’ll encounter herds of wildebeest, waterbuck, zebra, gazelle, and more.
As the day winds down, we’ll take the easy drive back to Nairobi. Over our 3-day journey, you will have enjoyed multiple lakes, abundant wildlife, and thousands of birds – including the always dazzling flamingoes.
