3 Days: Trek Gorillas in Uganda Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVAL → Drive to Volcanoes National Park (115 kms / 2 hrs)

Arrive in the morning or around lunchtime at Kigali International Airport where you will be met by your Adventure In The Wild Safaris Driver Guide for a briefing on your Rwanda visit.

Begin your Kigali city tour starting with a visit to the Presidential Palace near the airport. Continue with a drive through the city to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, then head into the city centre for a quick lunch. Visit the Caplaki Crafts Market and afterwards, start your 2-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park.

Day 2: GORILLA TRACKING in UGANDA → Return to Rwanda (Approx. 1 hr drive)

Enjoy an early breakfast before setting off on a 25 km drive to cross the border into Uganda. Begin your gorilla trekking adventure in the Mgahinga Mountains, home to the oldest and largest gorilla family group in the world.

After your trek, have lunch in Kisoro town, Uganda, then return to Rwanda in the afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: DRIVE BACK TO KIGALI → DEPARTURE (115 kms / 2 hrs)

After breakfast, drive back to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
