History

In 2005, Ol Kinyeni Siana was set up as a community-run reserve. Ol Kinyei is the first wildlife sanctuary in the Masai Mara environment.

How to Get There

By Road

To get from Nairobi to Ol Kinyei Conservancy by car, the trip covers 150 miles and takes about four and a half hours.

 

By Air

People will take a 45-minute flight from Wilson Airport to Ol Seki Airstrip and then drive for 20 minutes to get to Ol Kinyeni.

Best Time to Visit

Climate and weather

From June to August, when it’s cold, the Ol Kinyei Conservancy is 50 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. From October to December, when it’s warmer, it’s just over 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Because it is dry in the winter, it is the best time for trips.

 

Staying away from crowds

Between July and late September or early October, the great wildebeest migration happens. If you want to avoid people, you should avoid going to the Ol Kinyei Conservancy during these times. These days, the hotels and parks will be very full. The parks will be very busy in the dry winter months, which are known for great treks.

The Ol Kinyei Conservancy is beautiful, with open fields and rolling hills and ravines. It is a famous place for safaris in the Mara Conservancy because it has a lot of different types of land.

Game drives can be done in 4×4 safari cars that are closed or open. They are usually done early in the morning or late in the afternoon, which includes seeing the sunset. The length of both trips is about three hours.
