Satao Camp is perfectly positioned in the heart of Tsavo East National Park, in the South West region of Kenya. Satao Camp is situated within the South West of Tsavo East National Park. It is approximately seven and a half hours by road from Nairobi. For those traveling by air, the camp lies just 63 miles from Moi International Airport in Mombasa, making it easily accessible for guests arriving via Kenya’s coast.
Rooms / Tents
The camp consists of 20 classic safari tents nestled beneath tamarind trees and strategically placed to offer uninterrupted views of the waterhole. There are 16 standard tents and 4 luxury suites—each suite located closer to the waterhole for an enhanced wildlife viewing experience.
The tents are spacious and feature a private verandah, authentic African decor, carpeted floors, and a set of table and chairs. Each is topped with a high reeded roof for temperature control and an authentic feel. Bathrooms are en-suite, equipped with twin vanities and indoor showers. The suites also boast a luxurious freestanding bath for added comfort and indulgence.
