Sarova Stanley Hotel Nairobi

The Sarova Stanley Hotel in Nairobi is the perfect example of “old meets new”, with its old-world elegance mixed with modern touches. One of the first hotels established in Kenya, this five-star luxury hotel is historically Victorian and was named after the explorer HM Stanley and opened in 1902. The hotel has hosted famous writers of poetry and song over the years, among others, and offers both leisure and business visitors a comfortable and relaxed stay.

Restaurants are located both inside and outdoors, offering guests a mixed menu of international and local cuisine. The rooftop swimming pool is the perfect place to sit and unwind after a day of exploration or business meetings. The conference and banqueting facilities are spacious and elegant, while the Tulia Spa and Fitness Center offers the ideal place to unwind at the end of the day. The hotel boasts a shopping emporium where one can buy anything from beaded crafts to rugs and art.

Exploring Nairobi National Park (NNP), which is approximately 6 miles from your hotel, is a fantastic way to experience wildlife close to the city. Excursions and guided safaris to the park and nearby attractions can be organized through Adventure In The Wild Safaris.

Location

The Sarova Stanley Hotel is located on Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi’s central business district and close to the International Conference Center. The Jomo Kenyatta Airport is located 11 miles away, and Wilson Airport—connecting visitors to Kenya’s safari circuits—is only a four-mile drive from the hotel.

The rooms are tastefully coloured in reds and browns, and guests can enjoy an added touch of double-glazed windows and black-out curtains. Rooms have either an outdoor or atrium view. Bathrooms are equipped with both a bath and a shower.

The 385 sq ft Stanley Clubrooms offer sophisticated decor, plush blue carpeting, and fine wooden furniture. Added touches such as floral arrangements and fluffy robes and slippers make guests feel extra special, and with access to the 1902 private lounge, they can feel like a VIP.
