Alex Walker’s Serian Masai Mara

Alex Walker’s Serian Masai Mara

Alex Walker’s Serian Masai Mara, The first of Alex’s camps was Serian, whose name means “peaceful, calm, serene” in the Masai language. It was meant to be a place to get away from the busyness of modern life and enjoy wild Africa in the style of traditional tents camps.Only 10 other camps can get to it, which is one of the best things about being in the private Mara North Conservancy. It’s like having your own little piece of Africa, which is something we really enjoy.

Serian is made up of five huge tents that sit on beautiful wooden decking. One of the tents is a family suite. Every one is different, but they are all beautifully simple and have lots of careful little personal touches that make them feel like home.

In the beautiful bush baths, you can soak in the tub while looking out over the river valley. The openness of the rooms makes you feel like you’re outside, which is very nice. They are light and airy, and they come with a shower, a big bath, two sinks, and a toilet that flushes.

The wooden mess area has a beautiful view of the Mara River and the Siria cliffs. It’s a great place to share a drink and tell stories as the day comes to a close. Come sit with Adrian and Roisin by the fire and watch the stars come out.

The warm atmosphere of a home away from home is created by comfortable furniture, smooth wooden decks, and an indoor fireplace. The idea is to treat it like a home, so kick back, relax, and enjoy Serian’s evening with good company.
