Infamous man-eating lions, red-dust elephants, and Masai giraffes – the descriptions of the wildlife in this renowned park are the stuff of legends.
This adventurous journey couldn’t be more different than your day at the beach… but that’s what makes Tsavo so fascinating.

We will start our safari early to give you plenty of time in the park. We’ll soak up the early golden light of an African sunrise as our group travels to the park.
Everyone gets their own window seat so you’ll have clear views as the park and its bountiful wildlife come into view.

The Unusuals

We know you’ve come on safari to see the lions and the elephants. The Tsavo lions are a unique sub-species that don’t have the typical lion’s mane. They were even once known as “man-eaters.”

The elephants give off a rosy glow thanks to their habit of rolling in the park’s red oxide soil—“painting” themselves in natural rouge.

We’ll also be looking for other “unusuals” like ostriches, buzzards, baboons, and the park’s cheetahs and leopards.

Unlike some reserves, Tsavo East is vast but not overly touristed – expect to enjoy the park without crowds.
This dawn-to-dusk safari keeps you active and engaged. Come ready for a full day of exploration!

We’ll start early and take in a stunning African sunrise en route to the park.
At Likoni, we will make the ferry crossing and head down the Mombasa–Nairobi Highway on a picturesque 2½-hour drive to Tsavo East Park.

We’ll have a quick stop near the park where you can purchase breakfast if you wish.
