Kirurumu Under Canvas Central

Kirurumu Under Canvas Central Serengeti is located in the heart of Tanzania’s famous Serengeti National Park, a small camp offering warm, personal service and taking advantage of being in the “right place at the right time” to enjoy optimal game viewing. The intimate camp boasts a non-pretentious yet luxurious feel, with a comfortable dining tent and small sitting area and bar. A crackling campfire is lit at night and guests are invited to gather around and share stories of their day on safari with other guests.

The camp is located not far from the Ngorongoro National Park between the Seronera and Grumeti Rivers, making an ideal spot to possibly catch a glimpse of the great wildebeest migration. Guests have access to WiFi in the main areas during their stay and can enjoy game activities such as game drives and hot air balloon rides in the famous park, as well as the opportunity to spend time with a local community and tribe.

Location

The camp moves around the Serengeti and finds itself in the central region near the Moru Kopjes in June. A flight from Arusha to the Seronera airstrip will take around one hour, and guests will then drive to the Camp through the Serengeti, a game drive-style transfer that should take around 60 minutes.

Rooms / Tents

There are eight luxury tents privately set up in the Central part of the Serengeti National Park, offering views from inside and out, with a private verandah and small sitting area. Seven Double or Twin tents which can be made up as king beds or with two twin beds, and one Family Tent is connected by two en-suite rooms. Each bed is made with crisp linens and a splash of brown, black and beige colors in throws, cushions and rugs.

There is a classic and subtle luxury feel to the tents, each fitted with a writing desk and chair, a luggage rack and chest located at the bottom of the bed. There is mosquito netting over the beds, adding to the subtle luxury decor and feel in the tents. Each tent is en-suite with a shower, vanity and toilet, plus luxury bathroom amenities for guests to use during their stay. In-room dining is an option too.

Game Viewing / Activities

Game viewing at Kirurumu Under Canvas Central Serengeti is fantastic, as it is well-located to capture incredible wildlife most of the year, especially in July when there is a chance for guests to see the great migration crossing. Activities include daily game drives, usually early in the morning and late afternoon, while options such as a hot air balloon ride will offer guests a chance to soar above the Serengeti, viewing incredible wildlife from a fantastic aerial view.
